Digital Product Designer

  • Design & User Experience
  • Full-time
  • Eindhoven, NL

What you will do

As a Digital Product Designer, you are responsible for shaping how users experience Chargee’s products. You translate complex technical and data-driven functionality into simple, understandable interfaces for both B2B users and end-consumers.

You are pragmatic, hands-on, and comfortable working in a technical environment. You collaborate closely with developers, understand technical constraints, and can occasionally think and act from a developer’s perspective to ensure designs are feasible and production-ready.

For this role, we are looking for a full-time designer who can work from our HQ in Eindhoven at least four days a week. A Dutch working permit is required.

What are you responsible for?

You design intuitive user experiences that make sustainable energy insights, predictions, and controls easy to understand. With your experience you translate complex data and technical functionality into clear user flows and interfaces. To align designs with technical feasibility, you work closely with developers and product stakeholders.

Beside this you will be working on:

  • Building and maintaining a scalable design system that supports growth without becoming overly complex.

  • Designing for both web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency across platforms.
    Use animation and micro-interactions to improve clarity, feedback, and usability.

  • Delivering designs pragmatically: from early concepts and prototypes to detailed, implementation-ready designs.

  • Talking directly to users and customers to validate assumptions and improve designs.

  • Continuously improving the quality and usability of the product through iteration and feedback.

Who you are

  • 3+ years of experience as a Digital Product Designer working on digital products.

  • Experience designing data-driven or technically complex products.

  • Strong understanding of UX, UI, and interaction design principles.

  • Experience working closely with developers in an agile or product-focused team.

  • Ability to think in systems and build scalable design solutions.

  • Affinity with motion, animation, and micro-interactions.

  • A pragmatic mindset: you know when to polish and when to ship.

  • A Dutch working permit is required, because we are not an IND referent.

What Chargee offers you

  • Salary indication between €3.500,- and €5.000,- gross per month, 40 hours per week and based on relevant experience;

  • 8% holiday allowance;

  • Travel allowance: €0.23 per km  (50 km one way trip) or business card for Public Transport;

  • Holidays: 25 days and the option to purchase additional days on an incidental basis;

  • All hardware and software you need to do your job well;

  • Hybrid setup: 1 day working from home, 4 days at the office, with flexibility when needed;

  • A growth-oriented environment with room for learning, experimentation, and ownership;

  • Support for community contribution, user groups, events, and training in the Netherlands and abroad.

Who is Chargee?

Chargee is a smart-energy company with its head office in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. We develop an app that gives consumers and businesses real-time insight into their energy usage through our own hardware dongle and data analytics platform. Using IoT, AI, data lakes and microservices, we translate complex energy data into clear insights and concrete actions.

With the ambition to reach at least 300,000 customers in the next three years, we are continuously expanding our product and platform. To support this growth, we are looking for a Digital Product Designer who can work closely with our development team to design clear, intuitive, and scalable digital products.

You will be part of our small but growing product & development team (currently two backend developers, one app developer and one embedded developer), working hands-on on both our web and mobile applications.
